REPORTS TO: Sales Supervisor (A) Function:

• To meet the customer needs through selling merchandise, giving service and promoting Bahrain Duty Free Shops - Bahrain.

• Adhere to the rules and regulations of BDFS - Bahrain as per the policies and procedures manuals.

• Provide the highest levels of customer service to all customers.

• Acquire a high level of product knowledge in order to assist customers.(B) Key Responsibilities SELLING

1. Acknowledge and approach customers, establish customer needs.

2. Present, demonstrate and sell the benefits of the merchandise.

3. Complete the sale and make related sales.

4. Make a continuous effort to have the best sales results for the department.

5. Introduce customers to other departments after having dealt with their needs.

6. Assist in any other section of the shop, which may be under pressure.PRESENTATION OF MERCHANDISE

1. Ensure the complete, full range of stocks are on display at all times.

2. Ensure the merchandise is displayed in an attractive and enticing manner to customers.

3. Handle and demonstrate the merchandise with confidence and in a professional manner.

4. Keep the merchandise and surrounding area clean and tidy.

5. Store the merchandise in a proper manner so as to avoid breakage or damage.STOCK ADMINISTRATION

1. Assist in stock control, check and count goods.

2. Conduct price checks and expiry date checks to ensure accuracy and stock rotation.

3. Maintain the highest level of accuracy when checking and counting goods.

4. Maintain the highest level of inventory control on a daily basis.

5. Take part in Duty Free stock-takes.STOCK SECURITY

1. Ensure the highest level of confidentiality with regards to all company documentation, information and statistics.

2. Ensure that only authorized personnel have access to keys, security codes and passwords.

3. Ensure the proper protection of high risk stock.

4. Ensure that senior management are notified of any breach of security.

5. Ensure proper use of any special security devices available.

6. Ensure that a high degree of security on stocks and cash prevails at all times.CUSTOMER SERVICE

1. Ensure the highest standard of customer service and customer care is offered to all customers of Bahrain Duty Free Shops.

2. Ensure that any customer complaints or problems are dealt with properly as they arise.

3. Process customer’s transactions efficiently, ensuring minimum time spent processing and packing.

4. Be effective in highlighting and making customers aware of any / all shop promotions.

5. Ensure POS area is fully stocked with items for “Gift with Purchase”, the various sized plastic carrier bags, till rolls etc.

6. Be aware of all promotions on offer and highlight benefits to the customers.HEALTH AND SAFETY

1. Be alert to hazards in any part of the shop and stores, report the same to the shop supervisors, floor manager or other senior management immediately.

2. Use all equipment in the manner it was designed.

3. Be aware of emergency procedures and be prepared to carry out established procedures in the event of an emergency.

4. Ensure the safety of customers and colleagues at all times.CASH REGISTER PROCEDURES 1. Ensure the float is correct and that all keyed information into the POS terminal is done so accurately.

2. Process customer’s transactions efficiently.

3. Handling money/cheques/credit cards and any form of payment in a safe, secure and responsible manner.

4. Ensure cash and documentation is secure at all times.

5. Balance the cash at the end of the shift.

6. Process all transactions in line with BDF’s procedures & policies.

7. Highlight any cash transaction fault, concern or other as soon as possible.EQUIPMENT FAILURE

1. Inform the Duty Supervisor for immediate corrective actionPERSONAL APPEARANCE AND MANNER

1. Set an example of the company image, by a high standard of personal appearance and attitude.

2. Ensure you are dressed in full company uniform at all times so as to present a professional image of the company.

3. Behave in a polite and business-like manner while on duty and show the highest regard for all our customers at all times.

4. Be pleasant and approachable.Summary of Duties and Responsibilities - Sales Assistant

1. The Sales Assistant is responsible for selling merchandise to customers.

2. He/she must ensure that the retail policies and procedures are properly implemented in Bahrain Duty Free.

3. He/she takes part in all company training as assigned.

4. Must partake in any other duties as assigned by the management of Bahrain Duty Free.
